There's also a weird bug that has been occurring that I've called the "contortionist shot," where the player will attempt to shoot on his backhand, only for the player to do a 180 on the spot without actually twisting their lower body, meaning their spine just goes WHOOP and their arms clip through their body.Ī special shout out to the one-handed behind-the-back puck pickup animation, which is absolutely useless and rarely ever results in a clean puck pickup, leaving the pass receiver vulnerable to body checks or stick checks in the process. And a couple of animations appear to play out at superhuman speeds, mainly a couple of puck pickup animations and goalie save animations. Some are pretty choppy, others have blending issues regarding either the start or the end of the animation (LOOKING AT YOU WHIFFED STICK LIFT ANIMATION). The animations this year, while improved, still leave a bit to be desired. Then again, most of these grammatical errors have been present in this game since like.NHL 18 at least. The visual bugs are one thing, but I've found a decent amount of grammatical errors that persist in the game, too. ![]() I know NHL 22 is essentially a test run for the entire next generation, but yeesh.
